CLA +: Conjugated linoleic acids (English: CLA / French: ALC) are a family of fatty acids, which are isomers of linoleic acid.

According to several animal studies, supplementation with these acids can help reduce body fat while increasing bone mass and decreasing cardiovascular disease. Data from human studies did not provide the same results.

Neither linoleic acid nor alpha-linolenic acid (2 double bonds) can be synthesized in humans and, alpha-linolenic acid being the precursor of fatty acids 13 and 16, they can be considered as nutrients essential. Studies on humans and animals give different results.

This could be mainly due to the different types of CLA used in the experimental process: being different substances, some isomers of linoleic acid are significantly less effective than others, and in some cases they have shown different effects on animals (hyperinsulinemia, leptin inhibition). The results of tests on humans did not give the same results as those carried out on animals.

Some studies suggest that they might be helpful when combined with other supplements (such as creatine, protein, or arginine. Recent research suggests that they appear to reduce belly fat when combined with CLA and 13. In our case, we must remember that it will only be effective if it is taken during a period of physical training, while it will have no effect in a non-active period. more significant were obtained by people who had been subjected to physical activity during the test, while the control group, who did not exercise, did not obtain the same effectiveness of the product. tendency to believe that this product can induce weight loss due to a slight increase in basal metabolism, which would also be responsible for a consequent increase in lean mass.

When taken for a long time, these substances have been shown to affect LDL and HDL levels, although not significantly. No effect was seen with short-term treatments.
